Frequently asked questions

How does JSON to CSV conversion work?

Each object in a JSON array becomes one CSV row and its keys become the column headers. Nested objects are flattened into dot-separated headers such as address.city, and converting that CSV back to JSON rebuilds the nesting.

What is the difference between JSON, CSV and XML?

JSON stores nested objects and arrays and is the usual format for web APIs. CSV is a flat table of rows and columns that opens in Excel or Google Sheets. XML wraps values in named tags and is still common in enterprise systems, RSS feeds and older APIs.

Does the converter keep XML attributes?

No. When reading XML, the converter keeps element names and text but skips attributes, comments, CDATA sections and the XML declaration. Repeated child tags with the same name are grouped into a JSON array.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Parsing and conversion run in your browser, so the data you paste is not sent to a server. Usage analytics only note details such as input size and the formats you pick.
